  • Is that when you set fire to a recycling centre or truck? :))
  • Yeh. Donald Trump is a dumpster ( we say skip) fire in a suit.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • Well, you can't take anything in at 6 AM , S, and I toss out gibberish at that hour.  Dumpster Fire is a new phrase in the Merriam Webster dictionary that was just added.  If I recall correctly, it was hashing something up severely.

I had the same thought as soon as I saw DUMPster fire, UT.  The name TRUMP came to mind immediately.  Of course, the phrase that is catching on nowadays in the U.S.  "Dump Trump" might have something to do with that.

  • We've been using skip fire, to suggest something is ugly, rubbish and out of control, for some years.
Interestingly, if you hire a skip, it frequently has 'No Fires' stencilled on the sides.

  • I like the sign I saw, something like "no tipping" or something?
  • I finally figured out where Martha's foolish ginger came from, though I have no idea how it applies to anything.  It is the name of a song.
  • Ah!  I finally found what the word skip refers to.  Yes, that is exactly it, UT.  And, I guess it's been around for about ten years.  Makes me wonder if there are two versions or more of dictionaries for English English, American English, Canadian English?,  Australian English?, etc.

    U R I E L
What is done in the dark will always come to light
  • So, do you have any idea how it applies, PG?
  • Oi oi!! PG Tips!! Where are ye? :))
    You can't hide on here!!
  • Whickwithy- you can't just say you know where it came from then not elaborate...I really want to know if it's an ode to the ginger biscuit?
  • Can too!!!  Just kidding.  As you wish.  It's just the lyrics didn't really make much sense to me.  I did mention it is from a song's title.

Take a walk down memory lane with me
Past a watermelon stand on the way
Thinking I had everything we'd need
    on Martha's Foolish Ginger
    You were late
How could I forget what you said-
    the part about that
    "Love taking over your life"
    was not your plan

If those harbour lights had just been a half a mile inland
who knows what I would have done
If those harbour lights had just been a half a mile inland
who knows what I would have done

    Through the cliffs
out of the Bay I went
    From the starboard side
I could black my visions and my passions-
    They keep me awake

If those harbour lights had just been a half a mile inland
who knows what I would have done
If those harbour lights had just been a half a mile inland
who knows what I would have done

    A familiar voice
    "Hi. Surprise.
I've been searching trying to find you"
    I couldn't speak
my hands reached for Martha's Foolish Ginger
We talked until the moon came up
    About how life without love
    isn't worth very much
    Then I played this song

If those harbour lights had just been a half a mile inland
who knows what I would have done
If those harbour lights had just been a half a mile inland
who knows what I would have done
    what I would have done
    what I would have done

"Memories that we have yet" you said
"To make like our Burning Bed..."
Love, don't mistake that it wasn't safe
    on Martha's Foolish Ginger.

Don't try to make sense of Tori Amos's lyrics.

If I were dead, could I do this?
  • I gave up trying at Cornflake Girl. I’ve just had a bowl of crunchy nut ones. Just sayin.
