  • Gotcha.
If I were dead, could I do this?

  • So far this has been the case Whickwithy, I can't imagine it ever not being so.

  • It's been a while since the last post on this thread and I've been musing on it. It's very interesting to read what others have said. Personally, I only feel that Goldfrapp have never let us down. I have said it before, but ( anyway!) I've loved every track by them, without exception, b sides , film scores, everything . ..every mood is met by something they have done. So I have nothing but total faith in whatever they do next. Just a little aside though; I'm not interested in them working with other producers to create a "different sound"; that can sound commercially cynical ( thinking of Madonna flitting from producer to producer)....and I wouldn't want Alison to duet with anyone ( except maybe Maus!!). It'd be like squirting Ribena into champagne! And Goldfrapp doing covers?! Noooo....they're far too original and talented to need to do that!! Borrowing a hook is one thing...a complete cover is another. So I guess I do have an opinion after all!
Unless they covered Pet Shop Boys I Want A Dog ( with Ms Maus).

  • I think their cover of Winter Wonderland is fab. Only Goldfrapp could take a warm, Christmasy song and give it that ever so sinister feel it has in the middle when they shift to the 'black' notes. Every time I hear it, I think, bollocks, it's Christmas again but this Goldfrapp take on an old classic is fantastic.
The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ.
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit.
Shall lure it back to cancal half a line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.
  • Whatever will be the next release by Goldfrapp I shall except and worship. Maybe it's because I'm really into Abba now but...A little bit Abba, mixed with SN, ST, and a zap of HF, and 'Purple Rain' by Prince.

I hope to God that I never read something like, "They separated over creative differences."

  • Janet Jackson's-1814 Rhythm Nation. Or some early trippy 'Jefferson Airplane' like sound. White Rabbit, Lather, Somebody To Love.

  • I do realise there have been a couple of covers, which it have liked. It's just I wouldn't want a whole album of them as that's such a cliche and Goldfrapp are far above that!
  • I would LOVE to hear a James Murphy produced Goldfrapp album.  Just sayin.

After the new Arcade Fire album, I wholeheartedly second this.
