Sophie Ellis-Bextor is about to launch a new album.

Has anyone heard this yet? What's it like?
  • I prefer her early releases.

Her first album is still the best, but compared to anything she did between her previous and this, it's great.
     I really like it :)

    I think it's brilliant.
  • Just wondering whether or not anyone was getting a new tattoo in the near future.
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • After getting my Frapp logo on my wrist area yesterday i decided that i am having one more. On my inside left-arm. Something with the kids name on. Then that will be it. I will get that done in a few weeks.

Let's just say, for the fun of it, that you WERE getting a Goldfrapp tattoo. What and where would you put it??

  • I wouldn't--anywhere, EVER!
If I were dead, could I do this?
  • Hmm, I sometimes admire them...but don't think I'd ever get one. If I did it would be 2 simple, elegant calligraphy letters (GF) on the back of my neck.

I'm going to say something a bit radical now. I was concerned about her because she looked as if she was on something..that's it. She is the mother of it all though really. Love her or hate her, she was the ground breaker for women in pop music...even if she used her sexuality to do it. Did she make some questionable choices on the road to fame? Yes, but as we know...fame is an illusion, she was seeking love. Here comes the radical bit-

Why can't we Love women for who they are? Why must they be perfect looking and shaved? Why has this myth been perpetuated? What puts men in a different position? Do we require them to be a perfect weight, shaved everywhere, and wear makeup? Do we make an industry off of enhancing their beauty? Do we degrade men for not living up to a beauty standard? Do we tell men their ball sacs are too saggy and they have to get a hair weave? Do we tell men to shave their bodies and lose weight, because if they don't...they wouldn't be attractive? The lies, the lies that the media sells to us. They are SELLING it, they want you to buy. No wonder so many women are depressed. If you look like "this"...we will love you. Are you buying into it?

We are not each others enemies. I LOVE all women. Different races, ages, different shapes...the female must be revered. Women must respect women. I know I'm getting into a bit of feminist rant right now, and I'm not just addressing you HB. It's how we were conditioned. The media has sold you an idea of beauty. They want you to buy.

  • I'm normally not really into rants, but that was a good one, and I agree wholeheartedly.

I take it you've never been a gay man.

  • Thankyou A.. :-* . Again, it's not about attacking you Hells..it's about conditioning. It's really fucked up. It's not realistic, it's some ridiculous fantasy. It's like the fuckers that be said, "Hey, let's make women feel awful about their appearance, so we can sell them our chemical by-products from oil refining." That's what alot of so-called beauty products are made of. Just really pisses me off.
