I like this review as she actually gives you plenty of reference points to work out what it sounds like instead of trying to impress you with witty or clever use of the english language. Which is what reviews should be in my view. So many are just people showing off.

^ Also this kind of sums up what I feel about the album. I can't fault it as a piece of work but it doesn't have that 'thing' that got me into Goldfrapp in the first place. It is kind of what i was expecting... but sometimes with Frapp that can be disappointing, i like to be surprised. It's just not the first thing i want to play when i get my ipod out. Anyhow haven't listened to it for a week or so... waiting for my CD then give it a second view.

Just read another review using this term. The author furthermore is convinced that Goldfrapp (he is referring to them as a one-person-project, so much for that) is the most boring and stagnating music project repeating the ever similar sounds he has ever listened to. Ouch...Be patient. -

Some people just genuinely aren't fans of non-disco Goldfrapp, I'm convinced.I had a king in a tenement castle, lately he's taken to painting the pastel walls brown. He's taken the curtains down. He's swept with the broom of contempt, and the rooms have an empty ring. He's cleaned with the tears of an actor who fears for the laughter's sting...
